Choosing Kenworth DPF Filter for Your Vehicles

What does it mean to have the best working DPF?

Along with rusky and good looking vehicle, we also have to make sure to have the best engine that will work ideally for your diesel vehicles. You need to remember that your vehicle works as one with its body and its engine— everything must be congruent to each other for it to work better inroads, and in heavy-duty load.

Luckily at DPFParts, we partner with the best manufacturers to make sure to be able to give you the ideal filters for your vehicles. We also work closely with DCARB USA, to ensure you a smoothness installation, up to cleaning and maintenance services.

With that, we introduce to you one of our best selling DPFs, the Kenworth DPF. Our particular DPF is designed to guarantee the best horsepower performance to your trucks and diesel vehicles. Be it for heavy duty or light duty work.

Today, let us find out why you should consider getting Kenworth DPF filter and parts and what makes it an ideal DPF.

About Kenworth DPF

Kenworth, the world’s best. We often hear this phrase next to Kenworth. Since1923, Kenworth has custom-engineered trucks for a wide range of vocational and on-highway applications. Not only trucks but as well as good working DPF and engines that come along with it.

Kenworth Trucks, Inc., is an American manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty Class 8 trucks with offices based in Kirkland, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. It is a subsidiary of Paccar. This is why the appearance and the features associated with Kenworth are also compatible with PACCAR trucks.

Along with that, you also have to make sure that you clean and maintain your DPF the right way. Here’s a great overview of that.

Why You Need to Clean DPF

Diesel particulate filters trap soot from the exhaust and ash from motor oil. Most soot is burned off in the course of a truck’s operations, but ash stays in the filter’s honeycomb substrate and is removed through periodic servicing.

Exhaust in highway trucks is usually hot enough to burn off most soot in a process called “passive regeneration.” However, those involved in stop-and-go operations or that idle a lot don’t get their exhaust hot enough. The latter must “actively” burn out soot from the substrate by injecting extra fuel just upstream of an oxygen catalyst or by plugging in an electric heater when parked.

Sometimes an engine produces extra soot or spits out unburned fuel and burned motor oil. These, too, are captured by the DPF, and usually it can’t burn them out through normal processes. So occasionally the substrate must be removed from the DPF, then heated and baked in a special machine to burn out the crud.

What Your Trucks Need

The diesel particulate filter is constantly being bombarded with ash and soot passing through the engine. Your service provider will clean these parts using pressurized air and then if needed, bake them at temperatures exceeding 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit to burn away any particulates the compressed air left behind. Keeping these filters clean and clear of debris prevents backpressure into the engine and ensures optimal performance by allowing the exhaust to be released unobstructed.

The diesel oxidation catalyst should be cleaned in the same manner to allow this combustion chamber to continue functioning at full capacity. The cleaner the catalyst, the cleaner it will burn off excess exhaust gases.

Depending on the truck’s model, you may need to have the after treatment fuel injector cleaned as well (this injector delivers diesel exhaust fluid into the diesel oxidation catalyst). Over time, this injector also gets clogged with the same particulate matter and needs to be cleared.
